New CD Project for 2012

 

As I wrote last year, 2011 was spent in seeking the Lord on what music and lyrics to write that would bring Glory to Him and yet would also edify His people. I am happy to announce that seven new songs where “birthed” that are going on a new CD project that began last October! By the way, God did answer our prayers by teaming me up with a wonderful Christian Jazz keyboard player by the name of Val Lemen who lives in my hometown. Thank you Jesus!

 

I am so excited about this project. The CD title track is called “Divine Serenade." In addition to the seven new tunes mentioned, I am also including one co-written by my wife (Sue) that’s called “Showers of the Promise” penned in 2006. The ninth song will be one written many years ago that Sue and I will be singing as a duet. It’s called “Falling Tears”. Speaking of duets, I will also be singing another with my daughter Mandy called “The Word”. The tenth and most resent song I just finished is a worship/prayer composition called “Let All the World See."

 

I know the Lord spoke to me to address the issue of how our country is rapidly deteriorating morally, economically and spiritually. Out of my concern I believe one of the seven songs He gave me last year is one directed to the entire Church in America as an anthem to rally the saints to pray, vote and understand the times we are living in (1Chron 12:32). It is called “My Country Tiz Of Thee”. It is very different in musical style but carries a very similar message to the powerful patriotic hymn many of us learned in grade school.
